Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Services:

• Account information, such as your name, email, phone number, authentication identifiers (for example, from Google or Apple sign-in), date of birth, and account settings.
• Profile information, such as photos, bio, interests, preferences, city or area, gender (if you choose to provide it), and your visibility settings.
• User-generated content, such as Hangouts and event posts you create, messages, chat requests and responses, comments, reports you submit, and images you upload.
• Location information, such as your approximate location, a city or area you manually select, or your precise device location when you grant the relevant permission.
• Device and usage information, such as device type and operating system, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, analytics events, IP address, push notification tokens, and interaction data describing how you use the Services.
• Safety and moderation information, such as reports, blocks, enforcement actions, abuse signals, and records we need to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service.

Information from Social Sign-In

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services. We do not access your contacts, calendars, or social media posts.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide event and Hangout discovery
• Enable profiles, messages, chat requests, reports, blocking, and other user interactions
• Show nearby or location-relevant content based on your selected city/area or device location (where permitted)
• Send service notifications and push notifications
• Improve the reliability of the Services through analytics, debugging, fraud prevention, and security work
• Enforce our Terms of Service and community/safety rules
• Investigate abuse, safety issues, illegal activity, or policy violations
• Comply with legal obligations
• Communicate with you about the Services and respond to support requests

Location Privacy

OneWander may use location information to show you nearby events, Hangouts, city or area recommendations, and other location-relevant content.

• You may grant or deny device location permission. You can change this at any time through your device settings.
• You may also manually select a city or area instead of using device location.
• We may store your selected city or approximate location to personalize the app.
• We do not display your precise device location to other users.
• We do not use background location. If a future version of the app needs background location, it will clearly ask for that permission and explain why.

Messages, Content, and Moderation

We process messages, chat requests, Hangouts, profiles, images, reports, and related content in order to operate the Services, deliver messages, personalize the experience, enforce the Terms, detect abuse, investigate reports, and protect users.

• Moderation may involve automated systems, manual review, or both.
• Reports and safety-related content may be retained where needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or enforcement, even if the original content is otherwise removed.
• Blocking another user may limit interactions in the app, but it does not guarantee prevention of offline contact, indirect contact, or contact outside OneWander.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Services. Each service has its own privacy policy that governs its use of data it receives.

Third-party event listings. The Services may display events sourced from third-party providers such as Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, or SeatGeek. When you tap a ticketing link in the app, we may append a partner attribution identifier so the partner can credit OneWander for any resulting purchase. The link does not include your name, email, or account ID — only the partner's tracking parameter and the destination URL. We do not otherwise send your personal information to these providers.

How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• With service providers that help us operate the Services (such as those listed above).
• With other users, when you choose to make profile, Hangout, event, or interaction information visible. Public or semi-public content — such as profile details, photos, Hangouts, attendance or participation signals, and your username or display name — may be visible to other users depending on app features and your settings.
• For safety, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, moderation, or enforcement.
• To comply with law, legal process, or valid requests from courts, regulators, or other authorities.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of all or part of our assets.
• With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell personal information.

Hangouts and In-Person Interactions

Hangouts and any other in-person meetings arranged through OneWander happen off-platform and outside our supervision. We do not record, monitor, attend, or take responsibility for what is said, shared, or done at a Hangout, or in any direct exchange between users outside the app.

Anything you choose to share with another user — including your contact details, location, schedule, or any other personal information — is shared at your own discretion and risk. See our Terms of Service for the full assumption-of-risk and release that applies to Hangouts and in-person interactions.

Your Privacy Controls

Depending on the features available in your version of the app, you may be able to:

• Adjust the visibility of events you're attending
• Adjust whether your city or area is visible on your profile
• Manage users you've blocked
• Adjust your profile visibility
• Manage notification preferences (in-app or via device settings)
• Change location permissions through device settings
• Update certain account and profile information
• Delete your account from within the app

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal information or request a copy
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (subject to legal or contractual limits)
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request portability of certain information

To make a request, contact us at legal@onewander.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. Some requests may be limited by law, safety, security, technical constraints, or the rights of others, and we will explain if that applies to your request.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for the purposes described in this Policy.

When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited information for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, backup, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate business purposes. In particular:

• Backups may persist for a limited period before deletion.
• Some content may remain visible if it has already been shared with others or is needed for safety or legal reasons.
• Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
• Reports, blocks, enforcement records, and abuse-prevention records may be retained where needed to protect users and the Services.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level database security policies. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Processing

Information may be processed and stored in Canada, the United States, and other countries where OneWander or our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those of your home jurisdiction, and foreign courts, law enforcement, regulators, or government authorities may be able to access information under local laws. We use service providers and safeguards designed to protect your information appropriately wherever it is processed.

Children's Privacy

OneWander is intended for users 18 years of age and older. The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and users under 18 may not use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we may delete the information and/or the account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
